Puerto Chacabucois aChileantown inAiséncommune. Administratively it belongs toAysén ProvinceinAysén del General Carlos Ibáñez del Campo Regionand is located at the head ofAisén Fjord. It is the main port of the region, a port of call for ships sailing to theLaguna San Rafael National Parkand the terminus of aNavimagferry service fromPuerto Montt.
Puerto Chacabuco is named after theBattle of Chacabucoin 1817 during theChilean Independence War.
